This is your chance! We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our Road Construction & Maintenance team. Operating the litter and maintenance trucks, this role is a fantastic "foot in the door" to a stable, long-term career with the Council.

What You’ll Need

Mandatory:

  • White Card (General Construction Induction)
  • Current "C" Class Australian Driver’s License

(Highly Desirable):

  • Possession of an MR or HR Truck Driver’s License.
  • Plant operator tickets (e.g., Roller, Bobcat, or Backhoe).

Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to cope with daily physical labour. Evidence of completed training in manual handling, load restraint, and SWMS/safe work practices is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate small items of plant, including quick-cut saws and various power tools.
  • A proven track record of working effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to liaise with team members and ensure site safety.
  • Previous experience with road construction and maintenance labouring work will be a distinct advantage.
  • Demonstrated attitudes and behaviours that reflect and align with the Road Construction and Maintenance Branch workplace culture (safety, respect, accountability, and pride in our work).
